"An Encounter with the Wild," a riveting story of struggle and survival.
Udayachandran
Udayachandran (71) is the author of STRAY THOUGHTS: Poetic Epiphanies. He has also published an anthology of short stories in his lingo, Malayalam.
He used to write poems in English from his young days. The Illustrated Weekly of India carried a couple of his poems in those days.
Letters stayed away from him for a number of years, as he was completely immersed in the rat race that he partook in his later life.
Letters sneaked back to him, as they saw he still carried the embers of love. And they started their life together, a shade late though.
He completed his debut novel, "An Encounter with the Wild" which is about to be published. He has completed one more work, which he is refining now.
He is also more than half way through with a biographical novel about his own father, the first communist from the Royal family of Zamorins, Calicut. He is trying to capture the trauma of his early stormy life as a communist and his subsequent disappointment with the policies and acts of the communist movement and government in Kerala that made him turn to Gandhi. His later life was dedicated to serving the underprivileged the Gandhian way.
Udayachandran is from Kerala, and his writing would carry the distinct Kerala flavour and cultural touch.
